In Tennis, German tennis star Alexander Zverev completed a hat-trick of wins over Rafael Nadal yesterday to storm into the semifinals of the Madrid Open 2021 tournament with a victory in straight sets. The fifth-seeded Zverev beat top seed Nadal 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals to register his first win over the Spaniard on clay, a surface which he has dominated throughout his illustrious career.

Zverev's last-two wins over Nadal were on the hard courts of the 2020 Paris Masters and 2019 ATP Finals in London. Nadal hasn't been able to win this tournament since his fifth title in 2017. Zverev will next face Austria's Dominic Thiem.
