India’s former captain MS Dhoni who’s currently in Kolkata leading the Jharkhand team, secured an easy win against Chandigarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Sealing the team’s very first victory, Dhoni was celebrating with the lot when he received a pleasant surprise.

For those of you who’ve watched Dhoni’s biopic, you’ll be aware that he worked as a junior TT at the Kharagpur station. It was here that he had crossed paths with a tea stall owner named Thomas. Before Dhoni made it big in cricket, he would visit Thomas’ stall several times a day; which in-fact is no biggie.

But what came across as a surprise was Dhoni remembering the man who sold him tea over a decade ago by taking a mere glance at him

from across his dressing room. Dhoni not just invited Thomas into the hotel, but also treated him with a grand dinner.

“When Dhoni bhai was in Kharagpur, he used to visit my shop two or three times a day to have tea. Many times I served him hot milk in that period. After today’s incident, I will go back to Kharagpur and name my shop ‘Dhoni Tea Stall’,” stated Thomas unable to contain his happiness.

It wasn’t just Thomas who paid Dhoni a visit. Over 11 of his railway friends made it to his hotel to pay a visit. Dhoni invited each one over and ensured they were all taken care of. Well, such a humble gesture from a man who’s witnessed an epitome of success is truly commendable.
