Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has dared the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join the debate with him on the issue of development.  He alleged that the BJP captured power in 2014 by making false promises and leading the people on the garden path and Narendra Modi will cease to be the prime minister after 2019.

Addressing series of election meeting in Faizabad, Amebdarnagar and other districts going to polls in fifth phase of assembly elections Akhilesh Yadav said ``not a single metro train project was implemented in BJP ruled states and now Narendra Modi  is promising bullet train ‘’. He added `` will the bullet train also come to UP, they have done nothing for the bullet train in last  three years  and nothing will happen in remaining two years’’.

Continuing the war of words with the prime minister over  the discrimination with the people on the grounds of caste and religion Akhilesh Yadav said ``the  prime minister should enquire from the meritorious students who were given free laptop computers and the meritorious girl students who were given money under `Kanya vidya dhan’ yojna of the state government.

“BJP is pursuing a divisive agenda and they have divided even the electricity on the lines of religion—diwali and ramzaan. SP government has ensured round the clock power supply to urban areas. Will the BJP add more hours in 24 hoursschedule of the day’’, asked Akhilesh Yadav.  SP president maintained that `` prime minister was furnished incorrect information and the state government has ensured 24 hour power supply on the festivals of all religion’’.

Accusing the prime minister of making fun of the Lucknow-Agra expressway   SP president said ``instead of questioning the performance of the SP government the prime minister  should tell the people as to what his government has done for the people of UP in last three years’’.  He said the people of UP had enough `man ki baat’ by the prime minister and now they were interested in results and `kaam ki baat’ by Narendra Modi.
