Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start his campaign for Bihar Assembly elections today. On the first day, he will hold rallies in Sasaram, Gaya and Bhagalpur today. 

In a tweet, Mr Modi said he will have the opportunity to spend time with people from Bihar today. Prime Minister said, he will put the development agenda of the NDA in front of the people and ask for their blessings for the alliance. In an effort to reach out to maximum possible people amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the BJP will telecast Mr Modi’s rallies digitally in Bihar. State BJP President Sanjay Jaiswal said, there will be four LED screens and one giant screen in every assembly constituencies, which will telecast PM’s speech. He said, all candidates will be present in their respective constituencies and address people in open fields before the start of the Mr Modi’s speech.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will also launch his campaign in Bihar today. He will address two rallies in Nawada and Bhagalpur districts.

BSP Supremo Mayawati will address election meeting in Kaimur.

71 seats spread over 16 districts will go to polls in the first phase on the 28th of this month.

Meanwhile, today is the last day for withdrawal



of candidature for the third and final phase of assembly elections. 78 assembly seats spread over 15 districts will go to polls in this phase on the 3rd of November.

Campaigning has reached its peak for the first phase of elections in the state. Leaders of both NDA and grand alliance are making whirlwind tours to woo voters. Addressing election meetings at Aurangabad, Barh and Nokha Senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Congress is misleading country and spreading confusing about new agriculture policy. Accusing RJD in rally at Muzaffarpur and Siwan,JD (U) President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said when RJD was in power they did nothing and  now they are talking about employment.
 
Mr. Kumar said he has done development for the state and not for his family. On the other hand Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala held Nitish government for backwardness for Bihar. Addressing election meetings at Bhabhua, Buxar and Ara Senior RJD leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav termed Nitish government anti-development and exhorted people to uproot the government. RLSP President Upendra Kushwaha and leaders of left parties are also holding rallies and road shows in support of their party candidates.
