Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar got emotional on Saturday After his party's comfortable victory in state Assembly elections.

"All our leaders and party workers worked hard. People have expressed faith in us. The leaders have supported us and it is a collective leadership. I had assured Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi that I will deliver Karnataka. I can't forget Sonia Gandhi coming to meet me in jail when these BJP people put me in jail. So, I rather chose to be in jail than having been in a office," said DK Shivakumar.

I thank all my leaders in the state including Mr Siddharamaiah, party members and booth level workers,' the Congress leader added as tears rolled down his eye.
