Karimnagar: Huzurabad byeletion will see 61 candidates in the battle arena with the election authorities receiving 92 nominations. As some of them are repeat nominations, authorities said 61 candidates will be in the fray.
Since Friday was the last day to file nominations, many aspirants turned out. The nomination process, which started on October 1, witnessed heavy turnout on the last day. Up to October 7, the returning officer received
nominations from only 15 candidates. However, 46 aspirants submitted their nominations on Friday alone.
Representatives of mainstream political parties such as TRS, BJP, Congress and some unrecognized parties have filed a number of nominations.
While TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav, BJP aspirant Eatala Rajender and his wife Jamuna filed four sets of nominations, Congress aspirant Balmuri Venkat Narsinmha Rao submitted three sets.
