Hyderabad, March 18, 2015 (Agencies) As many as 73 people have died due to swine flu in Telangana State so far this year, while 2,075 others tested positive for the H1N1 virus.

In a bulletin on Swine Flu (H1N1 visus) on Tuesday, Principal Secretary, Department of Health, Medical & Family Welfare, stated from January 1 to March 16 this year, as many as 6,415 samples have been tested, of which 2,075 were found positive. The number of deaths due of swine flu and other complications as on date is 73. It stated 103 samples have been sent for testing on Monday, out of which, 23 tested positive. The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to



March 16) was 41, 46, 37, 45, 56 and 23, it said.

Meanwhile, the government has advised the citizens to take precautions such as reporting to hospital on appearance of early symptoms like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain. Sufficient stock of medicines is available at all district and area hospitals in the State and ample testing kits were also made available, it added. Homeopathy doctors have advised that the people can also take homeo medicine as a preventive measure under guidance of a homeopathic doctor. Medicine is available free of cost in Government Homeo Hospital, Ramanthapur and all AYUSH dispensaries, he added.
