Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya yesterday chaired a meeting with the key experts and officials in view of an upsurge of COVID-19 cases in some states.During the meeting, Dr. Mandaviya stressed on the need to focus on districts reporting high case positivity and undertake adequate testing to assess and control the spread of infection. He directed the officials to continue to focus on



surveillance and Whole Genome Sequencing to scan for any possible mutation. 

The Minister directed officials to increase pace of vaccination in districts reporting high cases. Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharati Praveen Pawar, NITI Aayog Member Dr. V K Paul and other officials and experts were also present during the meeting.
