Fifty-six more people died of coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, raising the toll to 3,542, while 5,571 fresh cases pushed the state's infection count to 2,35,757, an official said. Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad said a total of 1,49,874 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the state on
Monday.
As many as 5,571 samples tested positive for the disease, he added. The state also recorded 56 fresh fatalities, Prasad said, adding the death toll has now reached 3,542. The case fatality rate of the state is 1.50 per cent, he said. Prasad said the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 55,538.
