Telangana registers 52 more COVID-19 cases

In Telangana, 52 more people tested positive for Coronavirus yesterday. Hyderabad alone added 40 positive cases. With this, the number of total Covid-19 cases has gone up to 644 in the state. Meanwhile, one more succumbed to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 18. The state government has stepped up measures to contain spread of Coronavirus.
 
According to state authorities, 238 containment zones have been created and lock down is being implemented tightly. Telangana state has credited 1,500 rupees each in over 74 lakh bank accounts towards the financial assistance to poor families during Coronavirus induced lock



down. 

State Urban Affairs Minister K. Taraka Ramarao informed that the government transferred 1,112 crore rupees to banks for the same yesterday. It may be recalled that the state Government announced last month an assistance of 1500 rupees and 12 kg rice free of cost to every ration cardholder.
 
The Government had allotted 2,500 crore rupees for the programme. The Civil Supplies department has so far distributed over three tonnes of rice to 76 lakh cardholders while maintaining social distancing. Among total over 1.03 crore families, 76.6 lakh have white ration cards in the state.
