Telangana confirms 4,416 new Covid-19 cases

Hyderabad: The surge in Omicron driven Covid-19 infections continued in Telangana with a total of 4,416 cases reported from the State on Friday.

The urban centres continued to report high Covid incidence with 1,670 cases reported from areas under the GHMC followed by adjoining districts of Medchal-Malkajgiri reporting 417 cases and Rangareddy adding 301 cases. The other districts with high Covid positive



cases included Hanamkonda (178) and Khammam (117). Health officials also reported two Covid-19 fatalities in the State on Friday.

As on yesterday, a total of 29,127 Covid positive patients were under treatment/isolation while 1,920 persons have recovered.

On Friday, the authorities tested 1,20,243 samples of which reports for 8,597 samples were awaited.
