Tamil Nadu reports 7819 Covid positive cases

Tamil Nadu reported 7819 Covid positive cases for the first time yesterday since the pandemic. Chennai reported 2564 cases in the last 24 hours. In Chennai, the Corporation Commissioner Prakash said, fever clinics will be increased in all the 200 wards to ensure more testing. He also told that enough vaccines were available for everyone and anyone above 45 years of age could get vaccinated.

Corporation has administered ten lakh vaccine shots till yesterday. Out of the total population of 80 lakhs around nine lakh have been vaccinated.

More than one lakh of them have completed both doses. Commissioner Prakash told that there were enough stocks available for another 15 days and a fresh stock arrived once in ten days. There are 405 government vaccination centres across the city including 200 private hospitals and clinics.
