In Tamil Nadu, the total number of Covid-19 infections has exceeded 1.75 lakhs with the confirmation of 4985 cases yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Indian Council for Medical Research ICMR has launched a massive ELISA test mission in Chennai to study more about the Covid-19 ground situation.
The governing body for medical research ICMR has developed an ELISA kit more than two months back which it says is highly reliable. It detects the
presence of antibodies generated in humans after getting infected with the SARSCoV-2 virus.
The Tamil Nadu Revenue Minister RB Udhyakumar told reporters in Chennai last evening that the ICMR is carrying out the antibody tests by taking samples from about 12-thousand people in Chennai. The test may help track the pattern of the disease spread so that effective intervention measures could be planned.
