Tamil Nadu records 1707 new Coronavirus cases

In Tamil Nadu, 1707 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, including 471 in Chennai. The active caseload has come down to 13,907.

 

The current levels of Covid-19 active caseload in Tamil Nadu have gone back almost to the level of June 6th, and its downward curve is being sustained for quite long. The new cases have also dipped yesterday, though only marginally as compared to the previous day.

 

A remarkable feature being



seen in the numbers is that, in early June, the doubling time for the infections and mortalities were just about two weeks. Now it is more than 200-days.

 

However, epidemiologists say these remain just an encouraging set of statistical data, adding, the emergence of a new and dependable treatment regimen or vaccines or a combination of both can only allow one to be free from the concerns about the pandemic.
