Maharashtra recorded 118 COVID-19 positive cases in last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 3320. Seven deaths were reported taking the death toll in the state to 201. 331 persons have been discharged so far. 61,740 people have been tested for coronavirus across the state till date.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in a statement issued in Mumbai has said that some industrial and commercial activities will be restarted from April 20 based on compliance with norms in place to combat coronavirus. He clarified however that the decision to restart businesses will not be applicable to coronavirus containment areas.

The Chief Minister said as per the revised guidelines to mitigate hardship caused by lockdown, select activities have been allowed subject



to strict compliance of existing guidelines. Educational, training and coaching institutions shall remain closed, but they can resort to online teaching. MGNREGA works will be allowed with social distancing and use of face masks, and priority will be given for irrigation and water conservation works. 

Activities related to supply chain of essential goods, whether in manufacturing, wholesale or retail trade of essential goods through local stores, large brick and motor stores or e-commerce companies, will be allowed, except in containment areas. The decision had been taken to ensure that the economic cycle moves on. He added that there would be no relaxation in rules which make use of face masks and social distancing compulsory.
