Health Ministry has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on preventive measures to be followed in Entertainment Parks and other similar places amidst the Corona Pandemic.

The Home Ministry had earlier allowed re-opening of Entertainment Parks and similar places from 15th of this month.

In addition to the basic norms of wearing masks and maintaining at least 6 feet physical distancing, the SOPs necessitate sanitisation of rides and staggered timings of operation. Maximum 50 per cent seating capacity in theatres and food courts have been allowed.

The guidelines also stress on ensuring natural ventilation while clearly instructing not to permit usage of swimming pools.

The Entertainment park owners and

managers have been instructed to effectively work out mechanisms to not allow excessive crowding even on peak days and holidays.

Among other specific guidelines issued for the Entertainment Parks, the ministry said that adequate and regular water filtration and chlorination in water based theme parks and rides should be ensured.

It also said that food courts at such places should encourage contactless mode of ordering and digital mode of payment.

During the joy-rides, the ministry said disinfection of common touched surfaces of the ride equipment, before commencing the ride needs to be done and every visitor shall strictly sanitise their hands before and after using the rides.
