Covid-19 tests being substantially increased in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, COVID-19 tests are being substantially increased as corona virus infection continues to surge in the state. Apart from hospitals and primary health centers, the corona tests are also being done by mobile teams.

In Chhattisgarh, test facility through rapid antigen kits to identify corona infected patients is currently available in 832 centers. Out of this, 539 centers are in rural areas, while 36 centers are established in urban areas.

The corona test facility has been made available in government medical colleges, district hospitals, Civil hospitals along with urban and rural primary and community health centers.

Besides, corona tests are also being conducted by mobile teams. So far, about one million



samples have been tested in the state.

The state Health Department has made arrangements to provide corona test report online by launching a special web portal. After getting the corona tests, anyone can access their report on this portal.

Meanwhile, the collection of samples for Sero surveillance has been completed in seven districts of the state. The ICMR teams have collected three thousand five hundred samples from seven districts in the first two phases of this survey. Now samples will be collected from three districts in the third phase.

The report of Sero surveillance will help in preparing an effective strategy to deal with rapidly surging corona infection in the state.
