Covid-19 cases rise to 611 in Meghalaya

In Meghalaya, 53 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday including 39 from West Garo Hills district, taking the total active cases to 611. Eight COVID-19 patients also recovered taking the total recoveries number to 498. Director of Health Services Dr Aman War informed that out of the 12 new positive cases in East Khasi Hills, one is an attendant of a patient, two staff nurses, a tourist taxi driver, four returnees, one Armed Force personnel



and two high-risk contacts of a positive case.
 
The Director told that the positive cases from West Garo Hills district include 29 are from the BSF, nine returnees and one is the contact of a positive case from North Garo Hills district. So far, the state has registered a total of 1,115 COVID-19 cases out of which 611 are active, 498 recovered and six deceased.
