In Jammu and Kashmir, 40 new positive cases of COVID-19 were tested yesterday, taking the tally in the Union Territory to 1,489. Seven from Jammu Division and 33 from Kashmir Division, were reported positive today. Out of total cases, 749 are active cases, 720 have recovered and 20 died in in the Union Territory so far.
 
Now, the toll of positive COVID-19 cases are 218 in Jammu Division and 1,241 are in Kashmir Division. Moreover, 36 more COVID-19 patients recovered and discharged from various hospitals, one from Jammu Division and 35 from Kashmir Division.
 
Till date, 1, 28, 8517 travellers



and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 32, 077 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 73 in Hospital Quarantine, 749 in hospital isolation and 25, 132 under home surveillance. Besides, 70, 466 persons have completed their surveillance period.
 
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of J&K breaks the 5,000 tests a day barrier as more than 5,000 samples were tested yesterday. The positivity rate of the UT stands at 4.6 per cent whereas the mortality rate stands at 1.9 per cent.
