In Andhra Pradesh, the Corona positive cases have gone up to 314 with eight new cases in Guntur, one in YSR Kadapa and one in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District by last evening. Dr. K. S. Jawahar Reddy, Special Chief Secretary of Medical, Health and Family Welfare Department gave this information while talking to media persons in Vijayawada.
The Andhra Pradesh Government is working for increasing the capacity for testing for COVID-19, in order to identify the extent of infection in hotspots across the state, he added. Dr Reddy also said that the
State Government has ordered about 3 lakh rapid testing kits to increase testing capacity of the disease.
There are seven labs in AP presently equipped to perform around 1,000 tests per day and soon the capacity will increase up to 3,000 to 4000 per day. Dr Reddy further said that out of the total 28,622 foreign returnees have almost completed the 14-day quarantine period under strict watch. A total of 176 foreign returnees or their contacts were fund to be positive and properly treated and cured.
