Mumbai: As many as 13,452 Covid-19 patients were discharged after full recovery from various hospitals across Maharashtra on Friday, even as the daily pandemic deaths dropped marginally to 167 and the infections came down to 7761.

On a day when 13,452 recovered patients were discharged from the hospitals across the state, the total number of people discharged from the hospitals since the second week of March last year increased from 59,52,192 to 59,65,644. Consequently, the recovery rate in the state rose from 96.15 per cent to 96.27 per cent.

With 167 deaths reported on Friday, the total Covid-19 deaths in the state climbed from 1,26,560 to 1,26,727. Similarly, with 7761 fresh infections, the total infections in the state climbed from 61,89,257 to 61,97,018.

The total “active cases” in the state rose from 1,07,205 to 1,01,337. The



fatality rate in the state stood static at 2.04 per cent.  

Mumbai recorded 11 deaths and 443 infections. As a result, the Covid-19 toll in the metropolis increased from 15,667 to 15,768, while the infected cases in Mumbai went up from 7,29,791 to 7,30,234.

Pune with 17,096  active cases emerged as the first in the state in terms of maximum number of “active cases” in the state, while Thane with 15,826 stood second, followed by Mumbai (10,931), Sangli (9920), Kolhapur (9529) and  Satara (7188).

Of the 4,50,39,617 samples sent to various laboratories across the state so far, 61,97,018 have tested positive (13.76 per cent) for Covid-19 until Friday.

Currently, 5,85,967 people are in home quarantine while 4,576 people are in institutional quarantine.
