7,631 new COVID-19 cases in Kerala

Kerala has reported 7,631 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Health minister K.K Shailaja informed.

Meanwhile, 8,410 recoveries are also reported in the state.

Local transmission of COVID-19 continues unabated as 6,685 of the newly reported



cases contracted the virus through contact. The infection sources of 723 are unknown.

The minister also confirmed 22 more deaths on Sunday. The official death toll now stands at 1,161.

In the last 24 hours, 58,404 samples have been tested.
