Tamil Nadu continues to witness more number of discharged COVID-19 patients than the new cases. 103 people were discharged in a single day yesterday. There is no report of death in the past 24-hours. The total number of infected patients is 1323 while the active caseload remains 1025 people.

To assess the Covid-19 situation in Tamil Nadu, the Centre has delegated a team of medical specialists to the state. The team is comprised of Dr Piyush Jain and Dr Dharam S Meena of the Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College & Saftarjung Hospital, New Delhi. They arrived in Chennai last evening by



a special Air India aircraft and inspected the state-level control room and the designated Covid-19 hospitals in the city. 

They were briefed by the Health Secretary Dr Beela Rajesh about the activities in the containment clusters and the health infrastructure made available exclusively to overcome the pandemic. They are expected to file their report to the Centre after the tour that is expected to long for a few couple of days, besides suggesting to the state authorities about any additional measures to be taken.
