Virender Sehwag is swapping the cricket pitch for the reality-show arena. The former India opener will make his streaming debut as the host of reality show Rise and Fall Season 2.
The makers unveiled the first glimpse of the upcoming season on Thursday, giving viewers a peek at Sehwag's new avatar. Known for his straight-talking wit and fearless approach to cricket, Sehwag appears to be bringing the same no-nonsense energy to a game built around power, money and shifting alliances.
The promo plays on the familiar idea that fortunes can change in an
instant, with Sehwag drawing parallels between the unpredictable nature of cricket and the show's power game. The premise of Rise and Fall revolves around 15 celebrity contestants divided into two groups - the Rulers and the Workers.
While the Rulers live in the relative luxury of the penthouse, the Workers are stationed in the basement. The contestants can move between the two worlds as the game progresses, with their positions determined by decisions, alliances and strategy. Money and influence are central to the gameplay, making the power hierarchy anything but permanent.
