Veteran Playback Singer Jamuna Funeral Held In Bengaluru

The funeral rites of legendary South Indian playback singer K. Jamuna Rani were performed at the Jeevanhalli crematorium near Cock Stone in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Friday afternoon. 

The veteran singer passed away at the age of 88 due to age-related ailments. Her final rites took place on the afternoon of Friday, July 31, 2026, surrounded by family and friends paying their last respects.

1938 in Andhra Pradesh, K. Jamuna Rani developed a passion for music at a very young age. Her father, Varadarajulu Naidu, was a private employee, and her mother, Draupadi, was a veena player. 

Growing up in a musical household, she entered the film industry at the age of 7 and began her film journey by singing for child actors in the movie Thyagayya, directed by renowned actor and filmmaker Chittoor V. Nagayya.
