Actor Amitabh Bachchan said certain decisions at the 2026 FIFA World Cup left him "distressed" as he shared his thoughts on the ongoing tournament in his latest blog. The actor wrote about the spirit of international football, the emotions of supporting different nations and how players set aside club rivalries to represent their countries on the world stage.

Opening his latest blog post, the 83-year-old actor wrote, “The timelines and the idea of time has gone awry. The reason of course is the WC 2026, times to see are weird and makes our days even worse but we see we cheer we have remorse and we see with great distress the unfair decisions being made for one and not for the other and we get excited over the victories of those Countries that we had never imagined would make it to the WC challenge (sic)."

"Most of the renowned and well known Football countries have with great regret lost, that is surprising. But elated by the fact that those we never imagined have given fight and gained recognition. They keep saying 'may the best team win' but we never know who the best team is until the results come out,” he added.

He

went on to say that many players representing their countries had previously played together in various competitions and championships, making them familiar with each other's strengths and style of play. While they remain friendly off the field, they become fierce competitors when representing their respective nations.

The actor compared the situation to the IPL, where players compete against one another for different franchises but come together as one unit when selected for the national team, adding that it requires character.

Big B also reflected on how rapidly the world is changing for the better, saying younger generations are fortunate to witness and benefit from these developments.

According to him, older generations often wonder why such progress did not happen during their youth and accept that they may not live to see what the future holds. However, he said there is satisfaction in knowing that the younger generation will experience it.

Concluding his note, he mentioned that there was finally a bit of sunshine where he lives after months and that he wanted to soak in as much of it as possible.
