The Tamil Film Producers Council and the Tamil Film Active Producers Association on Friday jointly announced that they had decided to postpone the decision to go on strike from September 1 in the wake of an assurance given by Tamil Nadu Minister for Information and Publicity Rajmohan.

In a statement issued on Friday, the producer associations said that they had chosen to indefinitely postpone the strike call given in the wake of Tamil Nadu Minister for Information and Publicity Rajmohan’s assurance



to them that the attention of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay would be drawn to their concerns and that tripartite talks under the guidance of the Chief Minister would be facilitated to find a permanent solution to the problem.

The producers said that they had met Tamil Nadu Minister for Information and Publicity Rajmohan on August 26 and explained the problems plaguing the film industry to him. They said that they had also submitted their requests as a petition to the minister on the occasion.
