Mumbai, 4 (Agencies) : The actor is currently serving a 42-month sentence at Yerwada jail after proven guilty for illegal possession of weapons during 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
A close aide to Dutt said, "He has submitted his application and is awaiting its acceptance." If accepted, the 55-year-old actor will be granted 14-days leave, extendable by another fortnight. Earlier Dutt, after being given a month-long parole, came

out of jail in December last year. The leave, however, was extended by 30 days in January on account of his wife Manyata's illness. Prior to that, he was on a month-long leave on medical grounds in October 2013.
His prolonged stay out of prison had triggered a controversy, forcing the government to order an inquiry.
Dutt, who featured in last week's release 'Ungli', will be seen next in Rajkumar Hirani's 'PK'.
