Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has said that Prabhas-starrer Spirit will receive an A certificate, making it clear that the film is not being made with a family audience in mind. Speaking at the trailer launch of Romanchakam, the director said the film's violent and intense content makes an adult rating expected.
The filmmaker also addressed another major talking point around the project: its release date clash with SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra. While Spirit is scheduled to release on March 5, 2027, Varanasi is set to arrive in theatres on April 7, 2027, leaving a gap of around 37 days between the two
films.
Sandeep spoke about Spirit while attending the launch event of Romanchakam. Bhadrakali Pictures is run by Sandeep and his brother Pranay Reddy Vanga. Spirit stars Prabhas as a police officer and is currently lined up for a March 2027 release.
With both films expected to draw large crowds, Sandeep Reddy Vanga was asked whether the gap between the release of Spirit and Varanasi would be enough. He did not appear concerned about the two films arriving close to each other.
“It will be sufficient. There is around a 37-day gap. Also, that film (Varanasi) is bigger than Spirit," the director said.
