Actor Salman Khan is set to return as the host of Bigg Boss 20, with preparations for the milestone season already underway. Auditions and contestant shortlisting are expected to begin soon, while the makers are reportedly in talks with several television personalities and reality-show faces for the upcoming edition.
Variety India has learnt that filming for the new season is expected to commence on September 21. The long-running reality show continues to be one of the most-watched entertainment properties across television and streaming platforms, making it one of Khan's biggest annual commitments.
Before stepping onto the Bigg Boss set, Khan is expected to complete a significant
portion of his upcoming action thriller with director Vamsi Paidipally. The yet-untitled film also stars Nayanthara, and sources said the actor's team is currently working on a schedule that accommodates both projects.
The makers are expected to begin auditions and shortlisting contestants shortly. Sources said several well-known television personalities have already been approached, with initial discussions underway.
Contestants from popular reality shows are also being considered as the franchise continues to attract a younger OTT audience. A handful of former contestants may also return to the show, although details about the format and final contestant line-up remain under wraps.
