Raza Murad questions low turnout at Mushtaq Khan's funeral, says 'No big names showed up'

Actor Raza Murad has expressed disappointment over the absence of prominent film industry figures at the funeral of veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, who died on September 24 following a battle with cancer. Khan’s last rites were performed on September 25.

In a video posted to his Instagram account, Murad addressed the lack of turnout from major celebrities, emphasising that it was unfortunate no leading stars attended to offer a final salute.

He said, "Afsoos baat yeh hai koi bhi star unhe apna aakhiri salaam pesh karne



nahi aaya (The sad part is that no star came to pay their last respects to him)," adding "koi bada chehra nahi aaya (No big faces showed up)."

Without naming specific individuals, Murad highlighted that actors failed to spare even "50 minutes" for the service, while acknowledging Khan’s self-made career. "He did not flatter anyone; he reached this point only on the strength of his work," Murad said.

Concluding his message, Murad said that wealth and fame are fleeting, emphasising the need for humility within the industry.
