Rajkumar Santoshi-Sunny Deol to reunite for Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega

Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi and actor Sunny Deol are teaming up once again, and this time, they are bringing back a fan-favourite character from the actor’s 1996 cult action film Ghatak. The filmmaker has confirmed that their upcoming project is titled Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega. He has also clarified that while Sunny will reprise his character from Ghatak, the new film will not be a sequel.

Santoshi has also confirmed another project set in the world of his 1994 cult classic Andaz Apna Apna. Titled Ada Apni Apni, the film will feature a completely new story while retaining the comedy and adventure elements of the original.

In an interview with PTI, Santoshi said, "Sunny and I are working on a few stories, and soon we will make a formal announcement about it. The film has full-fledged action. It is called Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega. It is not a sequel. But it is the same character,



like the character is from Banaras."

Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega marks another collaboration between Santoshi and Deol following their recent Partition drama Batwara 1947. The duo reunited for the film after nearly three decades. Their previous collaborations include Ghayal, Damini and Ghatak.

Santoshi has also promised that the new film will combine high-octane action with the emotional depth associated with Sunny’s character. He said the project will feature action, powerful dialogues and plenty of emotion, something he believes will appeal to the actor’s fans.

“The fans of Sunny will be happy as this new film has action, powerful dialogues and emotion. Besides this film, there are two to three more stories in the pipeline with Sunny. For instance, one movie features Sunny as a sardar in America, which is also an action-drama,” the filmmaker added.
