Actor-performer Nora Fatehi’s latest track, Siir Siir, has been released as part of the official music project for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The song features on the tournament’s official album, which brings together artistes from different musical backgrounds across the world, and has been created with music producer Sanjoy and French singer Vegedream.
The release comes days after organisers confirmed that Nora will perform and sing at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on June 12 at BMO Field in Toronto. The appearance marks another FIFA outing for her after she performed at a fan event during the Qatar World Cup.
Speaking about Siir Siir, Nora said, “This song is a very special one for me.” She said the track was imagined as a blend of different cultural influences and was meant to feel global while still remaining distinct.
She added that she wanted the song to bring together every part of her identity, from her
Moroccan roots and Canadian roots to the influence India and the wider South Asian community have had on her journey.
Nora also spoke about the Indian presence behind the project. She said, “What makes this song even more meaningful is the strong Indian representation behind the scenes, from the choreographer and dancers to the styling team, everyone played a huge role in bringing this vision to life.”
She added that creating a song for an event such as the FIFA World Cup 2026 felt unreal and described it as “a full-circle moment where different cultures, sounds and people come together”. She also said she hoped to take “the amazing sounds of the East to the world”.
Nora is also part of a wider Canadian line-up for the tournament that includes Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bubl, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince. The USA ceremony line-up includes Anitta, Future, Katy Perry, Lisa, Rema and Tyla.
