Actor Katrina Kaif has been facing intense scrutiny over her appearance since welcoming her son, Vihaan, with husband, actor Vicky Kaushal. While the actor did not directly address the body-shaming she has faced, she recently opened up about how pregnancy and motherhood have changed her perspective on beauty, health and feeling confident in her own skin.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the 43-year-old spoke about the physical and skincare changes she experienced after pregnancy and how her idea of looking her best has evolved over the years. For the actor, who began her career in an industry governed by rigid beauty standards, looking good is no longer about fitting into a particular idea of perfection.

“When I started out early through my modelling and acting career, there were a lot of stereotypes about what the beauty standards were,” she said. “Now for me, looking my best is really about feeling my best, and that comes from taking care of myself as a whole,” she added.

her approach to beauty now begins with making choices that make her feel healthy from within. She spoke about managing inflammation, eating a balanced diet, staying active and incorporating meditation into her routine, all of which she believes have an impact on her skin and overall well-being.

She also highlighted the importance of small daily habits, including getting natural light first thing in the morning and keeping away from screens for the first hour of the day.

“It all makes a huge difference to how I feel, and ultimately how my skin behaves. I think when you feel healthy, that confidence naturally reflects on the outside,” she said.

Her comments come amid continued attention on her appearance following the birth of her son. Though she did not respond directly to the trolling, Kaif’s reflections offer a glimpse into how her relationship with beauty has changed after pregnancy - from conforming to external standards to prioritising her health, well-being and the confidence that comes with feeling good.
