On what could be touted as the most ambitious Bollywood project for National Film Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut, Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi is the magnum opus to look out for in 2019. Kangana stars as warrior queen Rani Laxmibai, who has stamped her mark in the history books for her bravery and courage. There is no one else we could see play the role of such as iconic figure and by the looks of the teaser, which just came out, we can attest to the fact that we were right.

Along with Kangana, the movie also stars Ankita Lokhande, who makes her big Bollywood debut with Manikarnika and will be playing the role of Jhalkaribai. While Sonu Sood was initially a part of the film, due to delays in shooting and clashing dates with Rohit Shetty's Simmba, Sonu had to back out of the project. Manikarnika was dwindled with a few hurdles in the recent past with release date

delays, directing credits and walking out by actors, but ultimately the film persevered and what we got, was an epic teaser. Check the teaser of Manikarnika below:

With a strong narration by the one and only Amitabh Bachchan, we are shown the valour, passion and love of Rani Laxmibai for her country and how she is ready to even give up her own life for her motherland. With Kangana in the forefront, we see the anger and fight for freedom beautifully and the action sequences by Hollywood's action choreographer Nick Powell is something we can look forward to as well.

After watching the teaser of Manikarnika, one can aptly say that Kangana has truly embodied the strength of Rani Laxmibai!

Directed by Krish, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is slated to release on January 25, 2019, and will be clashing with Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30.
