Rapper and singer Honey Singh finally appeared before Maharashtra Cyber after repeated summons over allegedly objectionable remarks made during a concert. India Today learnt that the rapper was questioned for two hours at the agency's office and later left the premises.
Singh's appearance came after he was issued a fourth summons in connection with a complaint over allegedly objectionable content in some of his work. The matter is under investigation, and further details are awaited.
Singh had been asked to appear before Maharashtra Cyber on October 16 but reportedly requested more time, seeking permission to join the investigation on
October 22. According to ANI, he made the request because he was outside India at the time.
This wasn't the first time the rapper had sought a change of date. He had previously been summoned to appear on October 5 but failed to do so. A senior Maharashtra Cyber Cell official had reportedly warned that a Look-Out Circular could be initiated against him if he continued to skip the proceedings.
The complaint stems from remarks Singh allegedly made during a concert, prompting the complainant to approach the authorities. Maharashtra Cyber subsequently summoned him to record his statement and question him over the allegations.
