Hrithik Roshan is set to appear in a special cameo in Rajinikanth's upcoming sequel Jailer 2, bringing fresh star power to an already packed ensemble.
The appearance will reunite the two actors on screen for the first time in four decades – their only previous shared credit being the 1986 action film Bhagwaan Dada, where a young Hrithik played the foster son of Rajinikanth's character. That film also marked Hrithik's acting debut after a string of uncredited roles.
After a period of negotiations, Hrithik has formally come on board and is expected to film his
portions in Chennai on June 22 and 23. According to Variety India, multiple look tests are being planned, and his role is described as action-heavy.
His segment arrives at a pivotal moment in the narrative, directly propelling the story of Rajinikanth's film forward. This marks Hrithik's first project commitment following the release of War 2 in August 2025.
The cameo carries personal weight for Hrithik, who has spoken over the years about his admiration for Rajinikanth and his desire to share the screen with him again. Jailer 2 makes that wish a reality.
