Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare yesterday inaugurated an interactive digital exhibition IFFI @50 at the Kala Academy in Panaji. The exhibition is considered as a highly hi-tech interactive multi-media exhibition.

Mr. Khare said, the exhibition will benefit the old and young alike, adding that it will be easier for the listener to gather the information on various dimensions of film making.

He said various new techniques have been employed in film making and information on these can be heard by plugging in the head phones. Mr Khare said, the film-service sector contributes to 13.4 per cent growth and with the inception of digitization it will provide huge scope to the youth to excel in their career.

The exhibition will remain open for all till 28 November during 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The exhibition - IFFI@50 - is a tribute to the journey of



IFFI from its inception in 1952 till date. The aim of the exhibition is to show how IFFI helps to showcase India cinemas to the world and also makes India a platform where cinemas from the world can be showcased.

The visitors to this exhibition will experience the evolution of Indian Cinema through various installations.  In addition to this, there are various first of its kind hi-tech features used in the exhibition including Zoetrope (moving picture creative installation), augmented reality experience, vertical digital display panels, Virtual reality tools and IFFI’s journey through digital panels. These have been designed to engage the audience to showcase the craft of filmmaking and highlight the impact of cinema on society.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, various competitions are being organized such as Film quiz and short film making for kids on everyday basis.
