A second post-mortem for singer Zubin Garg will be conducted in Guwahati on Tuesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced. Garg, a cultural icon, died during a scuba diving incident in Singapore, with the first autopsy stating the cause of death was drowning. The decision for a new examination comes after demands from civil society members and opposition

leaders.

The Chief Minister stated that while the autopsy performed in Singapore was "much more technically ahead," the second one is being conducted out of respect for "public emotions." The procedure is scheduled for 7:30 am at Guwahati Medical College and may cause a slight delay to the cremation, which is planned for the same day at Kamarkuchi.
