In a swift crackdown on cyberbullying, the Bengaluru Police have arrested a software engineer and an auto rickshaw driver for allegedly posting obscene and derogatory content targeting Vijayalakshmi Darshan, the wife of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa.
The arrests follow a formal complaint lodged by Mrs Vijayalakshmi on December 24, 2025. In her complaint, she detailed a targeted campaign of "low-level" abuse, citing over 150 offensive
comments and messages directed at her and her family across platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
Following a week-long digital investigation, the cybercrime police identified and secured two primary suspects:
1. Nithin (31): A software engineer and resident of Davanagere.
2. Chandrashekar B (45): An auto-rickshaw driver and resident of Chikkabanavara, Bengaluru.
