Twitter permanently suspends Kangana Ranaut's account for violating its rules

Kangana Ranaut's Twitter account has been permanently suspended after she posted tweets that violate the guidelines of the micro-blogging site. In a series of tweets, the actress had made objectionable comments on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The actress was criticising Mamata Banerjee for the alleged violence that took place in the state following the announcement of State Assembly Election results on Sunday (May 2).

Kangana demanded 'President's rule in West Bengal' after Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) won the recent assembly elections in the state and there were reports of violence



in Bengal. Kangana said that no violence was reported from Assam and Puducherry where BJP won, but ‘hundreds of murders and #Bengalisburning’ after TMC won in Bengal.

The actress also commented on Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi in her tweets.

After her Twitter account was suspended, Kangana Ranaut told news agency ANI, "Twitter has only proved my point they're Americans and by birth, a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown person, they want to tell you what to think, speak or do. I have many platforms I can use to raise my voice, including my own art in the form of cinema."
