Sonam Bajwa joins Diljit Dosanjh in Border 2, to start shooting this month: Report

After a successful Bollywood debut with 'Housefull 5', Punjabi actor Sonam Bajwa has now bagged her third Hindi film. She might just have said yes to starring opposite Diljit Dosanjh in 'Border 2'. The film is being made on a huge budget, and also features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty in important roles.

A report in Pinkvilla suggested that the 35-year-old would play a 'head-strong' character, and her dynamic with Dosanjh's character would be one of the highlights of the film. She is expected to shoot her part by the end of June this year, while the shooting of the film began earlier this year. Her character will reportedly have a strong



emotional arc, said the report.

A sequel to the 1997 super-hit film 'Border', the film will witness Sunny Deol reprising the iconic role of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri.

"'Border 2' will be shot from June until mid-August, with a combination shoot of all the lead actors - Sunny, Varun, Diljit, Ahan and Sonam, among others," the report mentioned. It further said the makers are also expected to finalise one more top female actor to be paired opposite Varun.

The shooting of the film is expected to be wrapped by August. 'Border 2' is likely to release in theatres on January 23, 2026 as the big Republic Day release.
