The release of 'Nikita Roy', starring Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, has been postponed. Originally set to hit theatres on June 27, the film will now release on July 18, the makers announced in a statement on Thursday. The makers cited "battle of screens" as the reason for the decision.
The statement, shared by Sinha on her Instagram handle, read, "Hi guys! We have found ourselves in the midst of multiple releases and a battle for screens. With advice from our well-wishers in the fraternity, distributors
and exhibitors, we have collectively decided to push our release to the 18th of July, so that we can reach a wider audience. Thank you for the immense love you have shown for the film so far, but you’ll have to wait a little longer, and we promise you, 18th July will be worth the wait! See you in the theatres (sic)."
The decision was influenced by the crowded release slate on June 27, which includes Brad Pitt’s highly anticipated 'F1', Kajol’s 'Maa', and Vishnu Manchu’s Telugu film 'Kannappa'.
