Soha Ali Khan, an actor and author, is now expanding her repertoire with her new wellness podcast 'All About Her'. At its heart, the show is about opening conversations that women often shy away from, whether it’s about perimenopause, hormones, insecurities, or simply the everyday struggle of being kind to oneself.

Sitting down with India Today, Soha explains why she wanted to step into the podcast space despite it being crowded. “I really feel that there are many podcasts, but there’s also a lot of appetite for them. It’s like saying there are too many shows on TV. We’ll always find something that appeals to us. Women’s wellness is still under-tapped, and these conversations lend themselves beautifully to the format,” she says. For her, it isn’t about being prescriptive, but about creating a safe entry point:

“We’re not the final word, but it’s the start of a conversation on subjects that matter. And why her? Because while we celebrate the glamorous aspects of being women, we don’t talk enough about the vulnerable ones. I think we should," Soha added.

In preparing for the podcast, Soha dove deep into her own journey of wellness and ageing. Now in her 40s, she admits that the changes she has experienced have been surprising. “Honestly, I didn’t even feel such a shift during pregnancy or postpartum. But in the last six months, I’ve visited nearly 20 experts trying to understand what’s happening in my body. Things like how our 28-day cycle affects our energy, our nutrition, even our emotions, these are lessons I’ve been learning and want to share," the actor shared.

A large part of her reflections, she adds, have been about learning to be kinder to herself. “I didn’t even realise I was being unkind. I’ve always been a

perfectionist, micromanaging everything. But I’ve had to accept my insecurities, accept what I’m good at and what I’m not. From the outside, people will say I look super-fit, but I can feel the fatigue, the fine lines, the ageing. Being in the public eye, you’re reminded of it every day," she admits, adding, "What makes a difference is the voices around you, my husband, my parents, my friends. If they’re supportive, you love yourself more. That’s why creating a kind community matters because we’re not superheroes who can always self-validate.”

Soha explains she isn’t afraid to ask for help when she needs it. “Why should we always have to dig deep and motivate ourselves? Just last week, I told Kunal, ‘I’m feeling vulnerable, and I need you to be very nice to me. Put your phone away and give me some love and attention.’ Whether it’s your partner, your friend, your parents, ask. We’re conditioned to just ‘deal with it’ or ‘buck up,’ but kindness from the people around you makes a huge difference.”

That same ethos runs through her podcast. Soha shared, “The tagline is about unfiltered, judgment-free conversations. It’s easy to dismiss or judge, but sometimes you just want to be heard. My hope is that everyone has a safe space at home, and that All About Her can help create that sense of belonging for listeners.”

While celebrity guests are bound to pique curiosity, Soha insists the focus is on authenticity. The actor reveals, “It’s a mixed bag. The focus is on themes and finding people who fit them. Of course, I’ve asked Kareena Kapoor Khan to join an episode on parenting, and Sara Ali Khan and my mother Sharmila Tagore as well. Some guests are well-known, and many are not. What matters is that their journeys resonate with the themes.”
