Actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani has reportedly signed the contract for the sequel to 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'. She is expected to return as Tulsi Virani on the show, which is likely to feature around 150 episodes. Several media reports suggest that the series will blend classic storytelling with a fresh perspective.

A report by Zoom mentioned Smriti finally signing the contract for 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2' on June 8. Earlier, various reports suggested that even though she had started shooting for the

series, she had not signed any contract. It was only earlier this week that Ekta Kapoor reportedly sealed the deal.

Smriti, along with Amar Upadhyay, who played Mihir Virani (the first) in the show, were seen at Kapoor's birthday bash recently. Actors Karishma Tanna and Anita Hassanandani were also seen attending the party.

'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' was one of the most successful television shows on Indian television. The show also marked a turning point in the careers of actors that featured on the show.
