Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s posthumous single Barota has garnered more than 28 million views on YouTube within two days of its release. The track was uploaded to Moose Wala’s official channel on Friday. It is rapidly attracting attention from his global fan base, who have continued to engage with his music.
In its initial three hours online, Barota amassed 2.2 million views alongside over 700,000 likes. The engagement remained high throughout the first ten minutes, as the like count exceeded 200,000.
By the end of the third hour, comments on the music video had surpassed 500,000, with users sharing reactions and reviews. As of now, Barota has now received more than 1.7
million likes. This has cemented its presence at the top of YouTube’s trending list.
The song, running just over four minutes, features signature lyrical themes used by Moosewala in earlier works. These include village references, cultural motifs from rural Punjab, and stories of youth, pride, rivalry, and physical strength. Such elements have contributed to the track’s resonance with listeners familiar with his narrative style.
Barota marks Moose Wala’s ninth posthumous release since his death in May 2022 in Jawaharke village, Mansa district. His family has continued to oversee releases and commemorate milestones related to his artistic legacy.
