Shots were fired outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani's house in UP's Bareilly late Thursday night. According to the police, three to four rounds were fired by unidentified assailants.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities have launched a search to track down those responsible for the shooting.

Police have formed five separate teams to catch the accused. Security at Disha Patani’s house has been stepped up by the police. SSP Anurag Arya said that the police are taking necessary action regarding the firing incident at the house of retired CO Jagdish Patni in the Kotwali area of Bareilly. He added that adequate police personnel have been deployed for the family’s security. He also stated that strict action will be taken against all those involved in the incident.

A Facebook post has gone viral in which gangster Rohit Godara has claimed responsibility for the firing at the actress' house. However, the post is not verified,

and Bareilly police are investigating it.

The viral post reads "I, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Saran (Delana), brothers, the firing carried out today at Khushbu Patani/Disha Patani (Bollywood actress)’s house (villa number 40, Civil Lines, Bareilly, U.P.). She had insulted our revered saints, Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj. She tried to demean our Sanatan dharma. We will not tolerate insults to our deities. This was only a trailer. Next time, if she or anyone else shows any disrespect towards our religion, we will not leave anyone in their house alive."

"This message is not only for her but for all artists in the film world and those associated with them. Whoever in future insults our religion or our saints in such a way should be prepared to face the consequences. We are ready to go to any extent to protect our religion. We will never back down. For us, religion and the whole society are one, and protecting them is our first duty," the post read.
