After narrating the success stories of the three generations of the Roshans, filmmaker Shashi Ranjan is now all set to helm another docu-series on Shatrughan Sinha's life. Sources close to India Today, exclusively confirmed that the project has already gone on floors, and will give a deeper insight into the life of the iconic superstar.
"Shatrughan Sinha and Shashi Ranjan are friends and have known each other for years. There was no better person than Shashi to bring to life the story of his self-made man. Given how The Roshans got such rave reviews, he wanted to bring more such untold stories to the fore. They are not only inspiring but also so cinematic that they make for an entertaining watch. This docu-series will also touch upon his highs and lows, his friendships in the industry, his political journey, and of course, his familial ties," the
source added.
Born in Bihar in 1946, the youngest in a family of four brothers, Shatrughan moved to Mumbai in the 1960s after graduating from the Film and Television Institute of India.
After playing multiple parallel roles, his big outing came with Subhash Ghai's Kalicharan in 1976. While the industry was ruled by Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra, Shatrughan made his own space. He also enjoyed his TV stint with Kaun Banega Crorepati Bhojpuri and as the judge of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. The actor has also had a successful political career, having earlier represented the BJP before shifting gears to the TMC.
Shatrughan Sinha's daughter Sonakshi Sinha is a popular actor in Bollywood, while his sons, Luv and Kush Sinha, have also acted in a couple of projects.
