Actor Sanjay Dutt dismissed ongoing speculation about him joining politics. He shared a post on X and confirmed that he has no plans to join any political party or contest for election. He emphasised that if he were to enter politics, he would make the announcement himself.
The actor put all speculations to rest with a statement on X.
“I would like to put all rumours about me joining politics to rest. I am not joining any party or contesting elections. If I do decide to step into the political arena then I will be the first one to announce it. Please refrain from believing what is being circulated in the news about me as of now (sic),” he wrote.
Rumours suggested that the
64-year-old actor might contest in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections as a Congress nominee from Karnal, Haryana.
It's noteworthy that Sanjay Dutt's family boasts a significant political legacy, with his father having served the Congress-led Manmohan Singh government, and his sister, Priya Dutt, holding an MP position.
On the work front, Sanjay will reportedly be seen in ‘Hera Pheri 3’ with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. He also has ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ in his kitty. The film also features Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Krushna Abhishek, Arshad Warsi, Daler Mehendi, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever and Rajpal Yadav among others in key roles.
