The promotions for the re-release of ‘Shiva’ are being carried out with the grandeur of a new film. Following the release of the documentary ‘The Punch of Shiva’, which featured tributes from top Indian filmmakers and stars, the makers have now unveiled a special conversation featuring Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Ram Gopal Varma.
Sharing the video on X, the makers wrote, “An unforgettable discussion on how #Shiva changed Indian cinema forever. Watch @imvangasandeep chat with King @iamnagarjuna x @RGVzoomin.”
In the candid chat, the trio shared interesting insights and
behind-the-scenes moments from the making of ‘Shiva’. Vanga, who has often expressed admiration for the cult classic, recalled his childhood memory of watching the film, saying, “I was nine years old when I watched ‘Shiva’. What I remember most was the punch of Ganesh — that’s the first time we ever saw a knuckle buster on screen.”
Ram Gopal Varma, in turn, praised Vanga, sharing, “SS Rajamouli once said that once in a blue moon, directors like Ram Gopal Varma and Sandeep Reddy Vanga come. But after the release of ‘Animal’, he called me and said, ‘I take back my words — he is the baap of Ram Gopal Varma.’”
